For owner Mairi Patridge, baking has always been about connection. Long before The Blended Batch existed, Mairi grew up in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes that reflected the people she loved. Food became her way of expressing care—creating something meaningful, personal, and memorable for the people who mattered most.
Years later, when she and her husband brought their families together—her son and his two daughters—the kitchen once again became the center of everything. It was where stories were shared, new traditions took shape, and every child had a voice at the table. Their blended family found common ground through food, and Mairi found renewed purpose in creating treats that made everyone feel included.
But she also saw something that didn’t sit right: friends, family members, and customers with dietary restrictions were often left out. Their plates looked different, their options were limited, and their treats were often seen as “less than.”
Mairi believed that no one should feel excluded from the simple joy of sharing food. She knew that inclusive baking could be elevated—not just adapted.
Creating a Bakery Where Everyone Belongs
The Blended Batch was founded on that conviction: to craft gluten-free and dairy-free baked goods that are every bit as joyful, flavorful, and satisfying as the classics. Here, dietary needs aren’t an obstacle—they’re an invitation to innovate.
Everything is made in small batches with ingredients chosen for quality and inclusivity. Every recipe is tested, refined, and reimagined until it meets one standard:

The name “The Blended Batch” reflects two things: Mairi’s own blended family—her greatest inspiration—and the blended communities she hopes to serve. It represents all the different kinds of eaters who gather around a table: those with allergies, those without, the cautious ones, the adventurous ones, and everyone in between.
Here, no one gets the “special” version.
